For now, Diane and Jack are stronger than ever as newlyweds. Jack is deeply in love with Diane, and Phyllis is doing her best to make Jack feel the same way about her. Everything seems perfect, almost too perfect. However, cracks are starting to show.
Diane is pressuring Jack to fire Billy from the company, advocating for Kyle to take over. In Diane’s eyes, Billy is unreliable and not an asset to the company. Personally, I believe Billy is a better fit than Kyle, despite his own flaws. At least he’s loyal.
Diane then suggested that Jack should retire and have Kyle run the company with his uncle Billy. Jack is getting frustrated, even though he knows she’s trying to manipulate him. He’s giving her the benefit of the doubt.
However, there’s another adversary Diane needs to watch out for – Phyllis Summers. Just because Phyllis is lying low doesn’t mean she’s given up on Jack. Phyllis took a risky step by hacking into Tucker’s secrets, provoking his anger with the information she uncovered. While Phyllis used this information as a form of protection, it’s clear that this shield won’t hold up much longer.
If Tucker decides to retaliate, Jack could find himself overwhelmed with guilt. Lately, we’ve seen Jack softening towards Phyllis, hinting at the possibility of reconciliation. Jack has a knack for forgiveness, regardless of how much someone messes up.
This shift in their dynamic might cause concern for Jack’s current marriage with Diane. If Diane senses that Jack is willing to forgive Phyllis for her past transgressions, including her actions against Diane, it could spell trouble for their marriage.
Diane might start feeling threatened, and as Jack grows closer to Phyllis, it becomes more likely that Diane could make her own mistakes. The once-ideal romance between Diane and Jack may take a dark turn if Diane’s animosity towards Phyllis reignites.
Diane might act like a changed woman, but she’s not. We can only imagine the wrath she’ll unleash on Phyllis when she finds out Jack may be gravitating back towards her.
