Bold and Beautiful fans, I found it strange how the writers explained or revealed what’s really happening to Eric. I mean, the show finally gave us a name for this unnamed disease, and it’s weird how viewers had a hard time grasping what it meant. Many have voiced their concerns about what the recent episode meant, so let’s dive deep to find out more about Eric’s diagnosis.

It’s funny how the storylines have often featured Eric’s symptoms of frequent tremors, breathing problems, hemoptysis, and multiple collapses over the episodes. While we’ve had many speculations about Eric’s real problem, the show has finally dropped a hint. Did you guys also catch the word oncologist and wonder what it means? Well, for those of you who don’t know, an oncologist is a medical professional who is specialized in treating tumors. So, it’s easy to imagine that Eric has some kind of cancer, if you ask me. All the symptoms relate to a possible lung cancer.

We still wait for Finn to drop the bombshell that has left us speculating. Even though the writers did not say the actual name of the disease yet, there’s a hint that gives the obvious answer as to what’s killing Eric. When Bridget questioned her mother about Eric’s terminal illness and how it all happened, Brooke had nothing but the same things to say. However, it was kind of informative how she mentioned that several oncologists have diagnosed Eric’s case for second opinions, but they all came to the same conclusion.

That being said, Bridget was quick to understand that there was no cure at all. Knowing that Bridget is also a professional doctor, she knows what an oncologist does, so she might as well figure out the missing pieces of the puzzle. Now the question remains: What kind of cancer is Eric fighting with? While my bet is on lung cancer, some viewers have mentioned how he might have cancer in the bone marrow or blood. All of his frequent symptoms are a match, and we can understand how a dying man would have some memory lapses in these desperate times.

It’s kind of frustrating as to why the show did not spell the exact words, but knowing that Stephanie also died of cancer, we can assume Eric has the same thing. Remember how Eric’s late wife was also diagnosed with lung cancer and she died fighting with this unbeatable disease. Unless there’s a misdiagnosis of some kind, it’s kind of confirmed that what we’ve speculated is right.

When talking about other possibilities, it might be some kind of blood disorder that Dr. Colby misdiagnosed as cancer. The reason I’m saying this is because Eric is not even trying to survive or let anyone else from the family help him find a cure, and it’s really getting on my nerves. No matter what the case, I think it’s just sad. I mean, why would they do such a cruel thing to one of our favorites during the holiday season?

Now shall we discuss the strange part? When and where did anyone see Eric being diagnosed by an oncologist? He never saw any specialist beside Dr. Colby, so how can anyone believe the words of a person about whom we know nothing? So why not ask Douglas about it? He kind of figures out everything, right? Luna did blurt out the word cancer in the previous episode, so I guess that’s it.

Keeping all that aside, there’s a good chance that Finn might have found out a possible cure or trial that could extend Eric’s lifespan for a couple of more years. So what do you think about this bombshell? We’d appreciate your comments and what you think about the ongoing storylines. That’s all for today.
