As the baby’s due date is probably in a week or two, could Cameron Grimes be getting cold feet from her wedding? In an interview, she revealed she called off her wedding that was about to happen in 2024. So, is this really the end of Grimes and her fiancé? Let’s find out right away.
Hey everyone, welcome to Tren Street. “The Young and the Restless” star Cameron Grimes is one of those actors who we saw grow into the beautiful woman she is now, from her childhood years to now on her way to becoming a mom. It all feels surreal. Grimes’s journey on “The Young and the Restless” started in 1997 when she originated the role of Cassie at the age of seven, playing her until the character’s death in 2005. Grimes then returned in 2014 to play Cassie’s twin sister Mariah.
While we are all very excited about her pregnancy, we have also been waiting since 2022 for her dream wedding to happen. But it looks like it’s not on her 2024 calendar anymore. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Grimes first started by talking about her first-ever pregnancy. The mom-to-be, due to pop in December, is over the moon about flaunting her baby bump. She thought she’d be as big as a house by now, but she’s rocking the bump game without blowing up. The baby’s measuring ahead, and her belly’s growing, but folks are hitting her with, “Hey, your stomach looks skinnier,” she said. Now that I’m in my third trimester, the universe may laugh at me, and I’ll suddenly gain 30 lbs, so I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Let’s go back to the time when she and her fiancé, Brock Powell, started their romantic journey. It all started in 2020 when she met him, a Disney voiceover guy who was helping her to put together a voiceover demo. But then COVID hit, so no face-to-face dates. But that didn’t stop the love train—endless FaceTime calls, talking from sunrise to sunset, high school vibes, you know. And suddenly, she’s like, “I’m very drawn to this person,” and she knew if she kept going down that road with him, he is the one for her. It did not take them long to make it official. In 2022, he popped the question in a Disney Pixar movie Up theme, which was her favorite. And after a couple of repeats, she said yes. The wedding plans for 2024 were on until a surprise baby happened.
They were fixed on a 2024 wedding, and almost everything was planned. But since the baby will arrive in December, they decided to take a break from it. Not just that, since the baby is coming, you’d expect her to move into a bigger home. But instead, she downsized. She traded indoor space for outdoor space, and now she has a big yard and a pool. “Having a kid has made me rethink some things financially, plus I don’t feel any pressure to get married,” she said in her latest interview with Digest.
But don’t worry, they are not breaking up. Powell and Grimes are still together; they just shifted the wedding plans for 2025 as they want to focus on parenthood for the first year. You know it can become stressful sometimes, especially since they are so new to being parents. So, they want to make sure both parenting and the wedding will go perfectly without any divided attention. Lastly, she concluded the interview with a little look back at her life. She said, “It’s so funny to look at how different my life was pre-pandemic and how different it is now. It’s sometimes hard to wrap my mind around, but in a good way, that all the things I wanted so much I have now. I feel extremely lucky.”
Although their wedding for the upcoming year is on hold, we feel confident it is going to happen by 2025, just like how she imagined it. Until then, let’s all congratulate Cameron and Brock on their baby, who is just around the corner, and wish them a happy and healthy parenthood. Thank you for checking out this video.
