Many suspect Mamie’s partner is her niece, Drucilla Winters, who disappeared in 2007 after a cliff incident.
Victoria Rowell originally played this role from 1990-2007, making her the fan-favorite choice for a comeback.
Although Rowell had a legal dispute with CBS and the soap’s producers in 2015, she expressed hope for change in the industry’s approach to diversity.
If Rowell doesn’t return, the show might consider recasting, but finding an actor with her level of intensity could be a challenge.
Some suggestions include Debbi Morgan, known for her Emmy-winning role in All My Children, or Nia Long from Guiding Light.
Crystal R. Fox, recognized from Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots, would also be a strong choice.
