Ever since Susan Flannery’s departure from The Bold and the Beautiful in 2012, a noticeable void has lingered on the show—a space that couldn’t be filled unless someone came to match Stephanie’s presence. Rena Sofer’s character, Quinn Fuller, had the potential to step into those shoes Stephanie wore. Yet, the storyline veered elsewhere, leading Sofer back to General Hospital.
To be honest, though Quinn was nothing like Stephanie, she had a charm of her own, and sadly, the Quinn-sized holes in our hearts can’t be filled in any way, no matter what. Nonetheless, the show could have taken intriguing paths with characters like Brooke or even Taylor to evolve into figures echoing Stephanie’s commanding aura.
However, it seems the narrative chose to keep them within their own dynamics rather than allowing them to undergo significant transformations. One thing fans love watching is character growth and changes, but the soap decided to let bygones be bygones and not change a thing, which is why, sadly, B&B is getting less and less popular among the fans these days.
Regardless, Taylor, with her history and connections, had the potential to fill the void left by Stephanie. Despite her tendency toward judgment, the show hasn’t explored that direction for her character, keeping her sidelined. She’s always all about Ridge, but if she was given a position to be like her daughter’s namesake, she would have done a terrific job.
So maybe only a new character can do it now. Who could possibly step into this vacant space? Here’s a proposition: What about Colleen Zenk? She’s terrorizing everyone in GC right now, and her stint probably is not long. The two soap sisters have a history of exchanging characters anyway, so maybe Zenk would be exactly what Eric needs in his life.
Zenk could portray a new character, perhaps a physical therapist aiding Eric in his recovery. Let’s call this person Steve for now. This would remind Eric more of Stephanie the more he calls Jordan’s new alias, and she would challenge Eric unlike anyone before.
Eric would gradually recognize the push Steve gives him, reviving the best parts of himself that seemed dormant since Stephanie’s passing. And by the time Eric completes his therapy, there might be a surprising shift in the Forrester mansion, with Steve stepping into the mansion as Mrs. Forrester, putting on a ring on her finger that Donna did not even get.
To make matters even more intriguing, Steve could bring her kids in town, you know, just to stir things up. What do you think? Let us know in the comments. If you enjoyed the video, please subscribe and hit the bell icon.
